So Proud!
This morning I rushed my family and visiting nephew (all kids in jammies) out the door so that we would not miss Lindy and Marcie as they raced through the park nearby at mile 10 of 13. We almost missed them amidst the throngs of runners, but Lindy spied me out just as I was recognizing Marcie. Tears welled up when I saw them. I would have cried, really cried real tears if my kids wouldn't have found it incredibly odd. I am so proud of our runners! This blog made me more invested than I realized in everyone's successes. They were pretty much on track for the 1:45 time Marcie was shooting for. Can't wait to hear how the last three miles went. Way to go, girls!!!

That was so fun to get read this blog, it was almost like being there myself!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to hearing all about it too!
Hannah, It was so fun to glance up and see a familiar face! I dont even know if you know what I look like- but Ive seen so many of Marcie's college pictures, I knew it had to be you! After we passed I glanced at Marcie and saw in her face that it was a real boost to see a dear friend there cheering! And funny how excited I was to see you! Even though weve never really known each other personally, I feel so bonded to my running blogging friends! And thanks for taking my beloved running jacket. It has a scar, but it is so ideal in its light but warm qualities!
ReplyDeleteHannah - thanks so much for taking the effort to gather up three kids and come and cheer us on! Such a bright spot in a tough race. Sorry you didn't recognize me. We will have to go on many runs together so you can get used to my "tired" look! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to go on runs with you. I'm afraid, though, that the only look I'd get used to would be your behind as I run so much more slowly than you do!
