Just a quick post to share my combined emotions of fear
and excitement. Well, as usual, Ragnar changed race legs less than 2 weeks before the race. Unfortunately for me I was impacted the most by this change as well as Brandi (one of the 3 AZ girls). Suddenly I'm picking up more mileage than anyone else on the team! Ahhhh! I was already fearing my route prior to the changes at 15.8 miles, but now I'm staring down 20.7 miles total! They tacked on an extra 10.4 miles overall in the revision and now our total mileage is 188.1.
Maybe I should have just gone ahead and signed up for St. George with you guys. I'm only 6 miles away (but luckily I get some breaks in between during Ragnar). LOL I know I CAN do this and what an awesome accomplishment I will have
when I finish it, but I just really need some encouragement - the race is next Friday!!!! If you are interested in what the route looks like you can check out our
Race Bible.
The new chart:
The old chart for comparison:
Gosh Bridgitte! Your schedule looks like the toughest one! I shouldnt say that, huh? You're going to rock, I know it. And then after this, when you decide to do a marathon someday, its going to be a piece of cake for you! I think the breaks and lactic acid build-up of these relays sound harder to me. You are my hero!
ReplyDeleteIt does look like you have the toughest one. No surprise to you I'm sure. So the race organizers did this to you? Wow, and that is typical to change it? Good to know! Sounds fun to do someday, looking forward to hearing all about it. If you can do this I think you are ready for a marathon!
ReplyDeleteRunning along the CA coast should be so beautiful, (I was raised in Northern California) hope you get a chance to do it while it is light! Leg 34 looks rough! You are a brave soul!
ReplyDeleteYou can do it Bridge - piece-a-cake for the Ragnar Queen! Can't wait to hear about it. Especially can't wait to hear about leg 34 - that was a major switch-a-roo. You'll do awesome!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice of them to post "very hard" next to your runs? You don't get to choose your legs? You will be amazing. Then you will be able to say you finished a "very hard" Ragnar ... which is 50 million times more impressive than just a plain ol' Ragnar. :)
