get ready, get set, go!
I've been contemplating and analyzing which races to enter this year. This is what I've come up with so far: April 18th SLC Half Marathon, May 25th local city Memorial Day Half Marathon, and then I'm trying to decide between the July 24th Deseret News (not sure if they're still having this one, haven't updated their website) or Aug 22nd Park City Marathon. AND I'm contemplating entering the lottery for the St. George Marathon. The lottery opens April 1st and the race is Oct. 3rd. What do you think? Two marathons in a year, too ambitious? Probably. Much easier to list them out on paper than actually run them :) Barring injury, pregnancy (definitely NOT planning a pregnancy - I have a six month old!), life, etc. this is my tentative race schedule. Anyone want to join me for 26.2 in July/Aug or October?

Id like to enter the St George Lottery. And if I dont get in for St George, maybe Id do the "Top of Utah" Marathon in September. Id like to do a hilly marathon before Boston 2010. I think St George would be a good practice marathon in preparation for Boston.
ReplyDeleteMarc, did you ever do the moab half? How was that?
It would be very cool to see you in St George. Anyone else?
Wow, that's an awesome schedule, and good for you for thinking ahead. I can usually only think to my next race. Two marathons and two half marathons in less than 6 months! It's totally do-able and the halves are great training for the full.
ReplyDeleteSo IF I was ever going to do a marathon, I think St. George would be at the top of my list. Lindy - you should totally do it!
Lind - Wayne and I were going to run the Moab half - we were registered, accepted and even had hotel reservations. Then I found out I was pregnant with the twins and we dropped out. I was much too tired to train/run a half. I definitely DID NOT have your energy to run a marathon while pregnant - AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteIf I were pregnant with TWINS I wouldnt even try to run. Or walk. Or get out of bed.
ReplyDeleteSo we are all going to register for St George 2009? Do we enter as a group of friends? Does this give us an advantage in getting chosen?
